I have to deal with a lot of programs that tend to trigger false positives with most anti-virus programs (an example: mpc-hr.exe from the combined Community Codec Pack, see picture).
In the past I used Avira on my older systems, and when I invoked or handled a file that was considered suspicious, Avira’s virus guard would step in to prevent a possible infection. (See picture).
As you can see Avira’s virus guard gave me the option to put it in quarantine or delete it if I was shore it was malware, let me deny access if I wasn’t shore and thus keep it were it was and not lock it up (like defender dose) or Ignore if I know what I was doing and know it was ok to run.
The problem is that all the latest software I have encountered, including Avira no longer give you these option, they just plain take action and almost make it impossible…
