The outcome of these attacks “is very visible now,” he says. “They’re on the front pages of newspapers, and they didn’t used to be.”

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2022, Ware also discusses:

Mistakes to avoid when gathering and interpreting threat intelligence;
How security leaders and teams can gather the right insights to keep ahead of the adversaries;
How to use threat intelligence to make risk-informed business decisions.

Ware previously served as the assistant secretary for cybersecurity at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. In this role, he was responsible for protecting the country’s critical infrastructure from cyberthreats and attacks. He also led initiatives to identify, understand and mitigate the impact of evolving risks and emerging technologies on homeland security efforts with a coordinated approach to these issues. Before his government roles, Ware was founder of an artificial intelligence company that was acquired by Haystax in 2013.
